  • Who are the vendors at the 2024 PBO Pride Festival?
    The festival will host various vendors, including local artisans, food vendors, and community organizations – providing a diverse marketplace and community resource hub. Additionally, The Plant offers a range of permanent vendors. Click on the links below for details!
  • May I bring chairs or blankets for the outdoor shows?
    Yes. Feel free to bring folding chairs or blankets, or just sit in the grass and enjoy the outdoor music comfortably. But please, no large bags or umbrellas. There is shade available in the stage area.
  • Is PBO Pride accessible for guests with disabilities?
    Accessible Parking - Please request assistance from a parking attendant who can guide you to the designated accessible parking area. Accessible Restrooms and porta potties will be available. ASL Interpreters will be interpreting for our Emcees and Drag Story Hour readers.
  • Should I RSVP/Register for the festival?
    Yes! Let us know you'll be there by RSVP-ing to the festival event, below. Once you do, you'll receive relevant festival updates, right in your inbox.
  • Where can I refill my water bottle?
    You can refill your water bottle inside these businesses: Lilly Den - 1 water dispenser B2 (Next to Lilly Den food truck) - 2 dispensers bmc brewing - 1 dispenser Fair Game Beverage Co. - 1 dispenser Quiet Area - 1 dispenser
  • Will there be overflow parking?
    Yes. Event parking staff will guide you to overflow parking in the field near the corner of Industrial Park Drive and East Street. A shuttle, provided by Carolina Livery, will take you to and from the festival.
  • Will alcohol be served at the festival?
    Yes, alcohol will be available for purchase for individuals 21+. Drinks will be available on both days of the festival. Underage drinking is illegal and strictly prohibited.
  • What do the "camera with red slash" stickers mean?
    Festival guests who don't want to be in pictures will be wearing a special sticker to indicate "NO PHOTOS PLEASE" (a camera with a red slash through it). They can be picked up at the Event Info Booth. While we want our guests to share all of their amazing event photos with us (by posting on social media with #pbopridenc,) PLEASE DO NOT share an image containing someone displaying the sticker of a camera with red slash.
  • What merchandise is available, and how can I purchase it?
    Official PBO Pride merchandise includes a Tie Dyed Hemp Tee Shirt available for preorder and pickup at the festival. More details and purchase options are available on the festival's merchandise page.
  • When and where is the 2024 PBO Pride Festival?
    The festival is scheduled for June 1-2, 2024, at The Plant located at 220 Lorax Lane, Pittsboro, NC.
  • What entertainment and activities are planned for the festival?
    The festival will feature a wide array of activities including live entertainment, a kid zone, a pride parade, vendors, and special events like a Drag Show and a Dance Party.
  • Is there a rain date?
    No. Our festival will be help rain or shine. Festival Staff will be monitoring weather forecasts and will post on this website and our Facebook and Instagram pages in the event that we decide to cancel due to severe weather.
  • Are outside food or drinks allowed?
    No. Outside food and drinks are not allowed at The Plant, as it is private property with its own range of food and beverage offerings for sale by its tenants. Bringing in outside food or drink is not permitted. Do bring your water bottle, however! There will be several stations where festival guests can refill their water bottles.
  • How can I volunteer for the festival?
    Interested individuals can sign up to volunteer via the SignUpGenius form link below. Volunteers will receive a free PBO Pride Volunteer T-Shirt!
  • Is there free WiFi at the event?
    Yes. Network name: the plant Password: welcome2023
  • Are large bags allowed?
    No. For everyone's safety, large bags are not allowed at PBO Pride.
  • Are there age restrictions for the festival?
    Yes, the event on June 1 is for individuals 18 and older, featuring a Drag Show and Dance Party. The June 2 events are suitable for all ages with vendors, food, drink, kid-friendly zones, and a pride parade.
  • What are the festival's goals and mission?
    PBO Pride aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for all people, celebrating diversity and promoting the liberation of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.
  • As a person who experiences anxiety or is neurodivergent, is there a place at the festival to calm down and then return to the festivities?
    Yes. Come into the Quiet Space, located in Fair Game Beverage Company's "Wheelhouse" Tasting Room. Our friendly volunteers or festival staff will be more than happy to guide you. We understand that large events can sometimes become overwhelming, causing anxiety, panic attacks, or negative reactions to sensory challenges. That's why we have created a dedicated Quiet Space just for you. Whether you need a moment of peace, a place to relax and gather your thoughts, or support during a difficult moment, our Quiet Space is here to provide a safe and comfortable environment. We want you to have the best possible experience at our festival, and we're committed to providing a supportive environment for all. Take care of yourself and know that we're here to support you.   • Does PBO Pride need any help or support from me?
    YES! As a grass-roots festival, we are rapidly growing and there's a wide range of support we need to be successful. To help afford all the amazing entertainment and festivities, we rely on sponsorships and donations. Additionally, we have an Amazon Wish List! During the festival, we need volunteers to help with setup, support events and spaces. and help clean up after the fun winds down. Our mission is to support our community, but we need our community to also support us!
  • Are there any exclusive benefits for top-tier sponsors?
    Top-tier sponsors, recognized as "Sequin Superstars," receive the most visibility with large logo placements, multiple shoutouts during the festival, and a special social media post highlighting their business.
  • What benefits do sponsors receive at different tiers?
    Sponsors can choose from multiple tiers, each offering various benefits such as logo placement on festival materials, shoutouts during the festival, and inclusion in promotional e-blasts.   • What is the minimum donation to become a sponsor?
    The minimum donation for sponsorship starts at $100, with various levels up to $500 and beyond for enhanced recognition and benefits.
  • Can businesses provide material sponsorship?
    Yes, businesses can offer material sponsorships, which could include services or products that help facilitate the festival. If you are interested in a material sponsorship, please use the "Contact Us" button on the site and send us a message with details. A member of the PBO Pride Planning Committee will connect with you.
  • Who funds/pays for PBO Pride?
    Although admission to our festival is free, it costs more than you might imagine to put on this fabulous event! PBO Pride is funded by businesses, organizations, and individuals who believe in the mission of PBO Pride. If you want to support us, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Stop by the Information Booth at the PBO Pride festival and donate $5 or more to receive a free twist-and-chill fan, while supplies last.
  • Who are the 2024 PBO Pride Sponsors?

  • How can I donate to the 2024 PBO Pride Festival?
    First of all, thank you for wanting to donate! If you'd like to donate online via credit card, please visit our Donate page. If you'd like to donate via cash or check, please use the blue "Contact Us" button on any page and send us a message. A member of the PBO Pride Planning Committee will connect with you.
  • Where do I go to reunite with a lost child?
    There will be a lost parent area in the KidZone, outside of bmc brewing.
  • What age group will the KidZone activities be targeted towards?
    There will be activities for kids of all ages and stages of development, from infant and beyond.
  • Will there be a place for neurodivergent kids?
    There's a space further away from the hustle and bustle - Near the Honey Locust Gazebo. The Plant has a lot of open space where you can locate a spot away from other people. The Wheelhouse (inside Fair Game Beverage Co.) will be our event's dedicated Quiet Space.
  • What are the hours of the KidZone?
    The KidZone will be active from 12:00 - 4:30 PM, closing up just in time for you and your children to join us in the Pride Parade, if you like!
  • Can I leave my children unattended?
    All children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by a responsible older teen or adult.
  • When is the Pride parade and can kids be involved?
    The parade around The Plant begins at 4:30 PM. Kids can bring their scooters/bikes and participate in the parade. Parade line up begins at 4 PM, at the north end of the silver metal "Pond Scene" sculpture.
  • What is the KidZone schedule?
    Most activities will run from 12:00-4:30 PM 12:30-1:00 - Kids' Yoga by Yoga Garden PBO 1:30-2:00 - Kids' Music by Mister John Saylor 2:00-3:00 - Drag Story Hour by Dustin Reems and Stormie Daie
  • Are the KidZone activities free?

  • Where is the KidZone?
    The KidZone will be split into two locations this year. Zone 1 Outside of bmc brewing - crafting, face painting, kids’ yoga, kids’ music, drag story hour and other kid-focused activities Zone 2 Near Honey Locust Gazebo - big bubbles, parachute games, sensory bins, and lawn games
  • Are canopies & chairs provided for vendors?
    No. Vendors are responsible for providing their own canopies chairs.
  • How to I sign up to become a vendor at PBO Pride?
    Vendor applications for 2024 closed in early March. To be notified when vendor applications open for 2025, please subscribe to our PBO Pride mailing list (at the bottom of our web pages.)
